Right Handed or Left Handed?
Just sitting here watching Beckett eat some toast pieces I broke up for him and he's putting everyone of them into his mouth (and doing a really good job of it I might add) with his left hand. He picks them up with his thumb and finger and pops them right in there. He's also loving his gerber puffs and cheerios at this point (broken up into smaller pieces, of course). I also found out yesterday that he totally naps on his tummy now!! I peeked in after he had been asleep for almost 2 hours!!!! (not the usual) and he was on his belly. When I've been going in to get him after his naps he's been on his belly a lot lately, but I wasn't sure if it was because he was rolling over when he woke up or he was sleeping that way...now I know!.

Kisses
If you go up to Beckett and purse your lips waiting for a kiss he opens his mouth wide and gives you a big wet one!!!
He's also saying da-da really clearly now, and today he said it when looking at Bevan, but then he said it while he was looking at me, so I'm pretty sure he doesn't know what it means yet!!

New Weight
Well, Beckett weighs 15lb 6.5oz now. He's still pretty tiny, but has fat in all the right places!!! He's got a chubby little belly and REALLY cute, chubby thighs!!! We've started giving him some frozen fruit in his mesh feeder - first mango, which he really liked, then peaches, which I think may have been a little sour or something because he kept making faces!! I also gave him prunes and apricots for the first time yesterday.
He's 8 months old now!!!!! He sits by himself really well, but still doesn't crawl or have any teeth. We put the mattress in his crib down a level the other day. His legs are really strong, and he loves to stand so I was afraid he was going to start pulling himself up while he was in there. He can stand holding onto the couch for a few minutes at a time.

Happy St. Patrick Day
Well, it's a day late now, but here are Beckett's St. Patrick's Day photos:

Not much else going on these days. Beckett does have his first bruise!! He's been toppling over forwards lately when he's sitting down. Usually he's trying to reach for something in front of him and falls forward, hitting his head on whatever it is he's trying to reach!!! This bruise is from hitting his walker toy and it's on the right side of his chin. I must try to get a picture, but it's really so little I don't know if you'd even see it!!
He's had cantaloupe to eat and he liked it. I also tried giving him potatoes and parsnips in little pieces the other day, but he didn't seem to like the pieces, so I mashed it and then he gagged on it - I think it was getting stuck to the roof of his mouth. I'm trying to introduce him to some finger foods so he can feed himself a little bit. So far he likes little gerber puffs, but I break them up so small that they're hard for him to grab and get in his mouth!!

Early Mornings
The last few days, since Beckett has started sleep through the night last week, he's been waking up at 5:30!! Waaay too early!! Because he's been getting up so early he can barely make it to 7:30 to go down for his first nap, then he's tired again 2 hours after waking up from that nap. The couple of weeks before this he had dropped down to 2 naps a day, so I think he's still used to 2 naps so he now refuses to nap after 2:00. So by bedtime at 7:00 he's pretty overtired.

Babbling
Beckett has started babbling A LOT in this past week. Last week he started opening and closing his mouth a lot, kind of like a fish, and this week, mostly starting 2 days ago, he's started adding sound - like na na na na na na na. Here is a video:
He's really good at sitting independently and playing with his toys right now, too.
And we've now given him beets. And he actually liked them!!!
And his hair is growing but mostly on the top of his head. It's really sticking up around his crown right now. Sometimes we call him spike!!
And I'm really hoping not to jinx this by saying anything, but for the last 3 nights he's slept all night - from 7 to 6 or so. I have been feeding him just before we go to bed at 10 or 10:30, but he goes right back to sleep. His wake up times have been getting a little earlier, but that's manageable as long as he sleeps through the night!
And he dances now when you sing to him!! He kind of bops around - it's soooo cute!!

7 months
Well, 7 months has come. Beckett is now 14 lb 11 oz. I don't think this is too bad considering his recent bout with the stomach flu. It took almost 2 full weeks from when it started for the poor little guy to get his appetite for solids back, plus for most of the first week he didn't even have much of an appetite for breastmilk or anything at all to drink. Thank goodness the vomiting is over though!! Of course, Bevan and I also came down with the same bug - I guess this is the start of new germs coming into the house!!
Beckett is doing a great job sitting up now - he loves to sit up and play with his toys, and plays well independently. It's so cool to watch him now with toys like his learning table and fisher-price walker because he is so much better at pushing the buttons. And he'll do something once, realize that it makes the toy react and then he'll do it over and over and over.
He loves to play peek-a-boo - I think it makes him laugh more than anything else. His love for blowing raspberries took a bit of a break, but it's back in full force now!! I think he forgot about it for a while!!
Still no teeth, and no signs of crawling yet. I'm trying to get him to spend as much time on the floor as possible, but every time he finds his way to his tummy he pretty much just freaks out!!
As for food, up until now he has had sweet potatoes, carrots, chicken, green beans, applesauce, pears, peas, acorn squash. We gave him his first organic baby mum mum this week and today he had toast for the first time - I just gave him dry toast cut up into strips. He mostly just gummed it and made it soggy, but he really likes feeding himself so I try to give him stuff he can practice with.
Beckett and I had a movie date again yesterday. We saw "Valentine's Day" - it was a really good movie, and Beckett was a wonderful date - he was very well behaved, no fussing really. He didn't even nap this time, but within 5 seconds of being in the car afterwards he was fast asleep!!!
We've started "The sleepeasy solution" to deal with overnight feedings. Since he is still under 15lb, I get him up twice during the night to feed him, but other than that he is doing a great job and not waking. We've been doing it for just over a week now and for the first few nights he would wake up and cry for a while, but now I think he's become pretty good at putting himself back to sleep. I was feeding him at 9 and 2:30 to begin with, but last night I fell asleep on the couch and missed the 9 o'clock feeding so I didn't get to him until 10:45 and he hadn't even woken up. His other feeding is at about 3 o'clock. Once I'm sure his weight is okay, I'll start cutting out the overnight feeds, but for now I'm more comfortable making sure he's getting as much milk as possible.
And to round things off, a few pictures:
